What the rows mean. Works as a keyboard: a keyboard app shows suggestions above the keys in any app you type in; a screenshot app means switching out and pasting back. Screenshot replies: both reply to images; Wingman takes up to five at once. Pickup lines and openers: Plug AI has a dedicated generator; Wingman's Opener and Icebreaker types write first messages, ideally from a profile screenshot. Dating-advice chat: Plug AI lets you chat with the AI for tips; Wingman only writes replies. Privacy label: the developer's own declaration on the App Store.
Keyboard vs app: where you get the reply
With Plug AI, you screenshot the chat, open Plug AI, upload it and copy a reply back. With Wingman, you don't leave. Add the keyboard once in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Wingman AI and turn on Allow Full Access. Then, in any chat, tap the 🌐 globe key, tap AI, paste the message or attach screenshots, and tap Analyze. Three suggestions appear above the keys. Tap one to copy it, paste it, edit it if you like, and send it yourself.
Wingman is also a full keyboard you can type with when you don't need AI: 15 layouts, autocorrect, emoji, haptics and adjustable height, free in every app.
Screenshots
Plug AI's main feature is "Customized Responses": upload a screenshot and it writes replies tailored to your conversation. Wingman does the same from inside the keyboard, with up to five screenshots per request, picked with Apple's photo picker so it only gets the photos you choose. You can add a note in the "Add context (optional)..." box, or just tap Analyze. Wingman also works from text alone, which is faster when one message is all the context you need.
Pickup lines, openers and advice
This is where Plug AI offers more. Its listing describes a pickup-line generator and a chat for "dating and self-improvement advice". If you want to ask "how do I tell if she's interested?" and get tips, Plug AI covers that and Wingman doesn't.
Wingman focuses on the next message. Its Opener and Icebreaker reply types write first messages, and they work best from a screenshot of the person's profile or story, so the line picks up on something specific instead of being a generic pickup line. Beyond that, there are Flirt, Comeback, Compliment, Joke and Apology types, 6 tones (Chill, Funny, Smooth, Charming, Bold, Serious) and 3 lengths, with three suggestions every time and Regenerate to try again.
Languages
Plug AI's App Store listing shows English only. Wingman's app is in 45 languages (English plus 44). Its replies follow the language of the message you paste, including languages the app's screens don't use; for screenshots alone, it uses your phone's language.
Devices and age rating
Plug AI is listed for iPhone with iOS 15 or later (plus Apple silicon Macs and Apple Vision). Wingman runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Both are rated 16+ on the App Store.
Privacy and the App Store privacy label
Plug AI's label lists Data Used to Track You: Identifiers, Usage Data and Diagnostics, plus Data Not Linked to You that includes identifiers for third-party advertising and photos or videos for app functionality.
Wingman's label has no Data Used to Track You. It lists only Data Not Linked to You: Device ID, Product Interaction, Other Usage Data and Purchase History. There's no account, no ads and no tracking. When you tap Analyze, the text and screenshots you chose go over HTTPS to Wingman's server, which passes them to OpenAI to write the suggestions; Wingman's server doesn't store them, and Wingman doesn't keep a history of your chats.
