Privacy Policy: Wingman AI Keyboard

Welcome to Wingman ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Wingman AI Keyboard application and its keyboard extension (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Text You Submit

When you use Wingman to generate AI-powered responses, the text you paste or type into the App's input field is sent to our proxy server, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider — currently OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) or xAI (Grok) — to generate suggested replies. We do not log, store, or retain this text on our own servers. Our proxy server acts solely as a pass-through: it forwards your request to the AI provider and returns the response. No user data is logged or persisted by the proxy. Text is transmitted solely for the purpose of generating a response and is subject to the respective AI provider's privacy policy.

2.2 Photos and Images

If you use the photo analysis feature (available to Pro subscribers), images you select from your photo library are compressed and sent through our proxy server to the AI provider for context-aware response generation. You may attach up to 5 screenshots to provide conversation context. These images are not stored by us or by our proxy server.

2.3 Keyboard Input

Wingman's keyboard extension does not collect, transmit, or store your keystrokes. The extension only processes text when you explicitly tap the "Analyze" button inside the keyboard interface. No background logging of typed content occurs.

2.4 Subscription and Purchase Information

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, see, or store your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Apple handles all transactions and provides us only with a confirmation of your subscription status.

2.5 App Preferences

We store your in-app preferences (such as keyboard height, autocorrect setting, default tone, and appearance) locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults and App Groups. This data never leaves your device.

2.6 Usage Limits

To enforce free-tier daily limits, we store a local request count and reset timestamp on your device. This data is not transmitted to any server.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information transmitted through the App. All communication with third-party APIs (including OpenAI and xAI) is conducted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since we do not retain personal data on our own servers, most data controls are managed directly through your device settings or through Apple's platform.
