Wingman vs WRizz: Two Rizz Keyboards, Compared Side by Side

WRizz and Wingman are both AI keyboards for iPhone, which makes them closer to each other than either is to a screenshot app like RIZZ. You switch to either one with the globe key in iMessage, Instagram, Snapchat, Hinge or Tinder and get suggested replies without leaving the chat. The differences are in the details: how each keyboard gets the context, who puts the reply into the chat, how much control you have, which iPhones they run on, and what their privacy labels say.

Short answer

WRizz is the more established keyboard, with 4.7 from about 2,760 US ratings, and its listing describes one-tap replies inserted straight into the chat. Wingman gives you more control (7 reply types, 6 tones, 3 lengths, up to 5 screenshots), runs on iOS 17, is available in 45 languages, and has no tracking data on its privacy label. Its yearly plan is $39.99.

What the rows mean. How it gets context: Wingman only sees what you hand it, the message you paste or the screenshots you pick; WRizz's listing says it reads the conversation context. Who puts the reply in the chat: Wingman copies a suggestion so you paste and edit it; WRizz's listing says you tap to insert it. Type, tone, length: Wingman's choices sit in a bar above the suggestions. App languages: the languages each app's screens are available in. Minimum iOS: the oldest iOS version the App Store lets you install on. Privacy label: the developer's own declaration on the App Store.

How each keyboard gets the context

WRizz's listing describes three steps: open the WRizz keyboard where you're texting, it "instantly reads the convo context and suggests smooth, natural lines", then you tap to insert one. That's the most hands-off flow of any rizz app we've compared.

Wingman works from what you choose to give it. In the chat, switch to Wingman with the 🌐 globe key and tap AI. Paste the message you got, or tap the photo button and attach up to five screenshots of the chat, a story or a profile with Apple's photo picker. Tap Analyze, and three suggestions appear above the keys. It takes a couple more taps than one-tap, and in exchange nothing leaves your phone except the text and photos you picked, and only when you tap Analyze.

Who sends the message

WRizz says you "tap to insert the reply directly into your chat". Wingman never types into the chat or sends anything. You tap a suggestion to copy it, tap Keyboard or Back, paste it into the message box, edit it if you like, and send it yourself. If you often tweak a line before you send it ("change 'Friday' to 'Saturday'"), copy-and-paste keeps that natural. If you want speed above all, inserting is quicker.

Reply control: types, tones and lengths

WRizz's listing promises "smart, funny, confident lines" but doesn't describe settings for the kind of reply. Wingman puts them up front:

  • 7 reply types: Opener, Apology, Comeback, Icebreaker, Flirt, Compliment and Joke
  • 6 tones: Chill, Funny, Smooth, Charming, Bold and Serious
  • 3 lengths: Low, Medium and High effort

You always get three suggestions. Regenerate asks again using whatever type, tone and length are selected now, so a Funny reply that missed can become a Serious one in one tap. The defaults (Flirt, Funny, Medium) mean you can ignore the bar until a moment calls for something specific, like a sincere apology.

Screenshots

Wingman lets you attach up to five screenshots per request: two screens of chat and the profile you matched from, for example. Apple's photo picker means Wingman only gets the photos you select and doesn't need access to your library. WRizz's App Store description doesn't mention screenshot replies; its flow is built around the conversation context instead.

Languages

WRizz's App Store listing shows one language: English. Wingman's app is in 45 languages (English plus 44), and its replies follow the language of the message you paste, including languages the app's screens don't use. For screenshots alone, it uses your phone's language. If you text in Spanish, German, Hindi, Japanese or Turkish, this is a big difference.

iPhone, iPad and iOS versions

WRizz requires iOS 18 or later and is listed for iPhone (plus Apple silicon Macs and Apple Vision). Wingman requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and runs on iPhone and iPad. If your phone is still on iOS 17, WRizz won't install and Wingman will.

Privacy and the App Store privacy label

WRizz's label lists Data Used to Track You: Purchases, Identifiers and Usage Data, plus Data Linked to You covering purchases, identifiers and usage data for third-party advertising and analytics. Its listing says it doesn't log keystrokes in password or payment fields.

Wingman's label has no Data Used to Track You and no Data Linked to You. It lists only Data Not Linked to You: Device ID, Product Interaction, Other Usage Data and Purchase History. There's no account, no ads and no tracking. The keyboard doesn't log keystrokes at all, only goes online when you tap Analyze or Regenerate, and Wingman's server doesn't store your text or screenshots. iOS keeps all third-party keyboards out of password and other secure fields.

Both keyboards need Allow Full Access to fetch AI replies; that's an iOS rule for any keyboard that goes online.
